South Bend, IN - The head
of Notre Dame's search committee for a
new football coach, Father Sean O'Tineytuck, said at a press
conference yesterday that the Fighting Irish
were "ecstatic" at how well negotiations were
going with their seventh choice for head coach, Pierre Fleuf,
the man-in-motion coach with the Montreal Alouttes of the
Canadian Football League. Fleuf is 77 years
old and speaks no English. "He was the guy we were
after all along," said O'Tineytuck. "That Urban
Meyer thing was a bluff to get Fleuf's price down."After
Meyer took the head job at the University of Florida,
Notre Dame went after, in order, Iowa
coach Kirk Ferentz, Louisville
coach Bobby Petrino, Polynesian Pop Warner
coach of the year Ozaro "Sam" Ooalakinikanea,
Ferentz again, but this time begging, actor Morgan
Freeman, and then Fleuf. Said O'Tineytuck, "English
or no, I'm pretty sure we'll have a passel full o' men in
motion."
