Daytona, FL - This coming weekend’s running of the Daytona 500 stock car race may have to be cancelled after all eligible drivers failed a standard State of Florida exhaust emissions test. Emissions Control officer Tommy Jack Hartell, whose district includes the Speedway, was working on a tip from nearby residents, who said their hacking, phlegmy cigarette coughs got noticeably worse on race weekends. Hartell had to force his electric Pansy Cart 2000 past Speedway personnel and then said he “smelled somethin’ unright” as he neared pit row. He personally tested and ticketed over thirty race teams before having to be airlifted out by a National Guard unit.
