Canaveral, FL - All hail
Mars! The latest photos from the Mars rover thingie left
ecstatic NASA scientists gasping for air
- a hockey puck, clear as a bell, just laying on the surface!
"This proves there was ice which proves there was water,
which proves there was landscaping and lawn sprinkler systems
at some point," said NASA spokesman Wayne Feldonitch.
The puck goes a long way towards explaining the mysterious
appearance in yesterday's pictures - a net and a squeeze
bottle. Initially these were considered just 'mildly curious'
but now seem far more compelling. The NHL
claims it had briefly talked to several protoplasm from
Mars about an expansion team, but that team wound up going
to Minnesota instead and became the Wild.
The puck also helps explain the 'red line' around the planet
and gives NASA scientists something radical to put up on
eBay; a nice price for the puck will guarantee
that NASA has a budget next year.
